Role Overview:

As Director of SEO, you will own the vision, performance, and innovation of our SEO department. This senior leadership role is responsible for setting the strategic direction of Truvolv’s current and future SEO offerings, developing a high-performing team, and driving organic growth for both our members and our own digital presence. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with our Product, Engineering, Content, Paid Media, and Sales teams to ensure SEO is a core engine of business value.

You are part strategist, part operator, and part mentor—comfortable in the weeds of technical audits, while equally effective presenting growth strategies to executives and members.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and evolve Truvolv’s SEO roadmap, aligning efforts with company growth goals and member objectives.
  • Drive innovation in service offerings—leveraging new technologies, algorithm trends, and search behavior insights.
  • Act as the senior voice of SEO in company leadership meetings and member strategy sessions.

Team Management & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary SEO team, including content strategists, SEO specialists, and analysts.
  • Establish and track performance KPIs for both team and member success.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, experimentation, and continuous learning.

SEO Execution & Oversight

  • Oversee all pillars of SEO: technical, content, on-page, off-page, and local.
  • Ensure comprehensive SEO strategies are developed, implemented, and iterated for each member segment.
  • Work cross-functionally with our product and dev teams to execute site architecture improvements, technical audits, schema implementation, and Core Web Vitals optimization.

Local SEO & Multi-Location Optimization

  • Lead scalable local SEO strategies for businesses operating across multiple cities and states.
  • Oversee bulk and dynamic Google Business Profile management, local citations, and directory consistency.

Local SEO & Google Business Profile Management

  • Lead and implement local SEO strategies to optimize visibility for businesses in multiple locations.
  • Oversee Google Business Profile (GBP) management, including listing optimizations, reviews, and local citation management.
  • Monitor NAP consistency (Name, Address, Phone Number) across directories and ensure accurate business listings.

Offsite SEO & Digital PR

  • Develop link acquisition strategies that drive authority through quality partnerships, digital PR, and guest content programs.
  • Ensure outreach strategies are white-hat, scalable, and aligned with long-term growth.

Performance Analytics & Reporting

  • Establish SEO reporting frameworks across tools like Google Looker Studio, GA4, Ahrefs, and SEMrush.
  • Provide proactive insights on traffic trends, keyword movement, and competitive threats.
  • Present SEO performance and business impact to internal stakeholders and members.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in SEO team management, training, and mentoring.
  • 7+ years of experience in SEO strategy, content optimization, and digital marketing.
  • Proven experience in onsite, offsite, technical, and local SEO strategies.
  • Expertise in Google Business Profile management and local search optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with link building and outreach strategies.
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO best practices, including site architecture, schema markup, and page speed optimizations.
  • Experience with SEO tools such as Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, BrightLocal, Screaming Frog, and SEMrush.
  • Ability to analyze SEO data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a digital marketing agency or multi-member SEO environment.
  • Familiarity with website platforms, CMS systems, and structured data implementation.
  • Proven track record optimizing multi-location & multi-state website architecture.
  • Proficiency in Monday.com Work Management for tracking and managing SEO workflows.
